My forefathers trekked across these mountains. My heart has always felt at home here.
My background as a paramedic, firefighter and rescue technician shapes how I prepare, read changing conditions and stay calm on the trail.
I meet you where you are. Sometimes a short, easy walk is all it takes to grow your confidence and begin a lifelong love of the mountains.
I started hiking with my dad when I was nine. He showed me the beauty of South Africa, and the mountains soon became part of my life.
One of those early memories is tasting water from a clear mountain stream. Such a small moment, but it stayed with me.
I like to understand what you want to achieve, notice where you need support and help you build on your own strengths. We find a pace that works for you.

Distances and grades come from the linked Wikiloc recordings; the final route and timing depend on your group and conditions. Day rates need four paying SA adults (up to six; Rhino Peak maximum four). Park fees and transport are separate. International, family and private enquiries receive a quote.
8 hikes to explore
Start small at Cobham. A gentle forest and riverside loop, with time to settle into the morning.
Walk the Garden Castle valley to Pillar Cave, then pause beneath sandstone before the return journey.
A steady climb to a sandstone shelter in Garden Castle. Take in the cave, pause for a warm drink and enjoy the walk back.
Follow a return route from Bushman’s Nek to the Twin Pools. River scenery, a relaxed stop and time beside the water.
Give the foothills a full day. This longer loop from the Sani Lodge area pairs open mountain views with time to take them in.
Walk from Bushman’s Nek to Langalibalele Cave for a longer day of open mountain scenery, a steady climb and a pause at the cave.

Long mountain days and multi-day trips are arranged individually around your group’s experience, fitness, and the conditions.
A long, demanding climb for fit, experienced hikers. We plan the day with your group, with the summit always subject to conditions.
Five days on foot through the Southern Berg, from the Sani Pass Road area towards Bushman’s Nek, with four nights in hiker huts.
A family outing, time with friends or a day for your team. Tell us who’s coming and we’ll plan the route, pace and stops around your group.
Distances, ascent, and recorded grades refer to the selected Wikiloc tracks. Your exact route, suitability, availability, access, meeting point, and quote are confirmed with Leon before booking.

05 / PREPARED FROM THE START
Before you lace up, you should know who’s guiding you, where you’re going and what to expect. We’ll work through the details with you.
We discuss fitness, hiking experience, ages and preferred pace before recommending an outing. First hike or big challenge, the plan starts with your group.
Your confirmation sets out the guide team, route, meeting point, start time, expected duration, group size, packing list, inclusions and booking terms.
We check the forecast and route conditions, brief you before setting off and adapt the pace as we go. Changing the route, turning back or postponing may be the right decision.
A good mountain day includes knowing when to change the plan. Routes, turnaround decisions and destinations depend on the conditions and the group.
Leave the Berg as you found it. Carry litter out, give wildlife space and leave plants and rock shelters undisturbed.
Your packing list is confirmed for your route. Multi-day trips also need an agreed overnight gear plan.
